Levi
is a nice, meaty ram who has
great horns, and a fleece
that's just wonderful.  He
has consistently given us
beautiful lambs that have
gained well on limited
pasture and mother's milk
alone. This past spring we
discovered that he carries
spotting and moorit, so we
have decided against selling
him this year.

NEVER  turn your back on ANY ram.  Regardless of their gentle
dispositions, they are prone to unexpected  flare-ups of temper and may
attack at any time, in any season.  They can be very gentle, loving, and
peaceful one minute and attack you from behind the next.  Keeping rams
in a separate area away from your ewes and lambs is a wise thing to do in
order to enjoy your flock more without the fear of being attacked on your
mind at all times.  It's also easier for children to enjoy the flock if the rams
are penned separately from the ewe flock.  Keeping up with children is not
always easy, and this does help some.
We decided that it's time to add some new, fresh genetics to our flock so
we added 3 new rams in 2007.  Trinity, MacIntosh, and Brother Derek
came to our farm in mid March, and we are very favorably impressed.
More information coming soon, and better pictures will be added later
when the rams can be put out on pasture.

Well, I have given into my 'sheep weakness' again.  After looking at all the
varied colors and the spotted babies Levi gave us this spring, I have decided
to keep him one more year rather than sell him.  He is, underneath all that
white wool, obviously a moorit and in addition he carries spotting.  It was
just way too much for me to resist.  I will probably offer him for sale again
next spring.
