Duchess
Dam: Lady Bug
Sire: Levi
Born 2006
Duchess has a spectacular white
fleece that has plenty of crimp to it.
It's just such a treat to spin and
takes dye easily. She also inherited
some of Lady Bug's milkiness, which
has been a real bonus for us. She
has nice wide-set horns and a gentle
disposition.
Jasmine
Dam: Raptor
Sire: Troy
Born 2006
I am anxious to begin our fall
shearing and am hoping to get to
Jasmine very soon. Her fleece looks
to be one that will be such fun to
work with. Jasmine has followed in
her mother's steps as she is raising
a very fine ram lamb this summer
and has plenty of milk to do a nice
job. Her horns are wide-set and she
has a very sweet disposition,
although she is a bit shy.
Ida Claire
Dam: Clairie (Clairisse)
Sire: Levi
Born 2007
When we sheared Ida last fall we
discovered a special treat. Her
fleece is really just wonderful. It
reminded me of Levi's, which was
always one that we looked forward
to because it never failed to work up
beautifully. Ida had one of our very
nicest lambs this past spring of
2009! A wonderful, fast growing ewe
lamb named Sally. We have decided
to keep this lamb here on the farm
because Ida has proven to be quite a
great ewe, even though she is one of
our smaller girls.
Nadia
Dam:
Sire:
Born
Here is one of our newest arrivals.
She is just spectacular in every way
imaginable. Her fleece, although not
very long right now, is a beautiful
moorit/gray, she had plenty of milk,
she's meaty, and her lamb is one of
the nicest of the year. This picture
just does not do her justice! She has
nice wide-set horns and has become
quite gentle and easy to work with
over the past year.
Lady Bug
Dam:
Sire:
Born
Lady Bug is one of our most loved
ewes ever. She was our very first
registered ewe and we have been
through many, many adventures
together over the years. She is a
good mother, great milk producer,
has a wonderful fleece, and a saucy
personality that makes her such a
character!! We have kept both of her
daughters here in our flock because
they are always spectacular. I am
planning to breed Lady Bug to
Nadia's ram lamb, Glorfindel this fall
(2009). This should possibly
produce some extremely milky ewe
lambs and rams that carry this trait
to their offspring.
Mazi
Dam:
Sire:
Born
When we first met Mazi she was
lively and a bit on the 'don't even
consider trying to touch me' mind
set. In Feb. 2008, Mazi was attacked
by some Boxer dogs and eventually
we had to have one of her back legs
amputated. Mazi has proven herself
to be one of the most rugged sheep
on this earth, and is currently
grazing in the field with the other
sheep. We really were hesitant to
attempt to let Mazi breed last fall
after losing her hind leg. I didn't
know if it would be safe for her to
carry that much weight on only one
leg. Our vet assured me that she
should do fine, so I bred her to
Glorfindel. She had no problems.
As sturdy as she has proven to be,
she managed to breeze through
without any trouble and gave us a
nice black badgerface ram lamb.

Mrs. Beasley
Dam: Lady Bug
Sire: Levi
Born 2007
Here's the other daughter of Lady
Bug that we have kept. I still get to
look forward to shearing Mrs.
Beasley and enjoying those thick,
long ringlets. Her fleece appears to
be quite thick and heavy and it will
be such fun to get started on her.
We plan to breed her this fall, but are
unsure which ram we will be using.
Maybe she will have a ewe lamb as
nice as she is!
This is just a short peek at
some of our farm's ewes.
Check back soon and I will try
to get more of our girl's
pictures up for you to enjoy!
